A story in three pictures

Give it a go

1. In the first space, draw an imaginary character arriving somewhere. A dot with a hat is enough to begin.
2. In the middle space, draw one surprise: a door appears, the moon visits or a cloud asks for directions.
3. In the last space, show what the character decides to do. The ending can be quiet, silly or left as a question.
4. Tell the story aloud using the pictures. Invite a different ending if someone has another idea; the first version does not need correcting.

Make it yours

Take turns choosing what appears in the next picture. If drawing three pictures feels like too much, draw the middle one and tell the beginning and ending aloud.

When you’re finished

Keep the page whole. Put the pencil back and decide together whether to keep the story or reuse the blank reverse.
